Michael Podgursky is Director, Sinquefield Center for Applied Economic Research at Saint Louis University, a position he has held since 2019, and Chancellor’s Professor of Economics at University of Missouri-Columbia, on whose faculty he has served since 1995. His research focuses on the economics of education. He has written many articles in the area, with a primary focus on school finance, teacher labor markets, and human resource policy in schools. He serves on the board of editors of several academic journals including Education Finance and Policy and Education Next, and is an affiliated scholar with the Center for Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research (CALDER) at the American Institutes for Research and CESifo in Germany
