Brian McGrath is the Executive Vice President of Programs at EdChoice. In this role, he aligns the work of EdChoice’s four program teams—Policy Advocacy, Research, Training, and Outreach—in their shared mission to promote educational freedom for all children. He leads several initiatives aimed at increasing entrepreneurship and innovation in the education marketplace, helping to create more high-quality, diverse learning options for students. Additionally, Brian works to develop new resources and partnerships to support the broader EdChoice mission.

With over 20 years of experience in the school choice movement, Brian has worn many hats, including policy advocate, coalition builder, thought leader, and development officer. He also served as a senior staff member and advisor to Indiana Governors Mitch Daniels and Eric Holcomb.

Brian is married to Leah McGrath, and they have three sons and a dog. He enjoys spending time with his family—especially grilling out and listening to all kinds of music. A devoted fan of college sports, he cheers for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team, waves the “terrible towel” for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and never misses the Indy 500 with family and friends. Brian loves the outdoors, has a passion for history, and appreciates a good podcast.
